In the last few weeks, a hometown boy was killed in Afghanistan. The whole town came together for the family. There were flags and ribbons everywhere. People lined the streets and met him at the airport. They lined the way to the funeral and to the gravesite. It was just very touching to see our town come together like this. I was really proud of my little hometown. Now I know why in 50 years, I have never left. I was born here, and this is where I will stay.
